Take pause and begin every project the same way—
with the end in mind.
I feel content should always build toward something, piece by piece, even if that means taking a step back to understand its intent fully and honestly. That’s why I take a holistic approach to my work. To shape the entirety of a project and ensure that each part is cohesive, compelling, and no matter how simple—significant.
In enacting this, there are a few principles I will always uphold.
Integrity: I will only work for what I believe in. If I’m tasked with a project that goes against my values or jeopardizes my sense of self, I’m not the man for the job.
Tenacity: When I do take on a project, I pour myself into it. There are no cut corners, no jilted responsibilities, no withdrawals or half-hearted attempts.
Humility: Be polite, be kind, be open. I’ve found everyone offers value when given the opportunity, sometimes in unexpected ways. It’s important to be receptive to that in order to grow as an individual and as a team.
Levity: Cool is key. Projects vary, but attitudes don’t have to. I’m a lighthearted person and try to incorporate that wherever I can. A positive outlook mixed with excitement and a healthy dose of humor does wonders in making work not feel like work.
